Nancy J. Griffin, 75, of Melbourne, Fl., passed away after a brief illness on Nov. 25, 2013, at the Williams Child Hospice House.

Born Aug. 12, 1938, in Nashua, she was the daughter of the late George and Frances (Askham) Therrien. Nancy grew up in Hollis, NH, and graduated from Hollis High School in 1956 where she was a multi-sport athlete. She married Lee Kempton in 1959 and moved to Nashua. Nancy attended nursing school prior to raising their six children. She moved to Florida in 1972 and resided there for the past 40 years.

Nancy was a free spirit who prided herself with the ability to make something from very little and was at her best when down to nothing. She saw only the good in people and was easily befriended.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Wright Cudworth of Hollis, who died in 2011.

Nancy is survived by her six children, Christopher Kempton and his companion Benay Watts of Brookline, Janice Jodoin and her husband Richard of Nashua, Jeffrey and Kathy Kempton of Kissimmee, Fla., Jay and Shelly Kempton of Hollis, Rodney Kempton and his companion Tuyet of Kissimmee, Fla., and Matthew Kempton of Manchester, and her sister, Carol Wilshire and her husband Elliot Wilshire of Hollis. She had 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

No services will be held. The Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne Fl. is assisting the family. The family wishes to thank her friends and caring staff at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
