Marjorie A. (Luke) Wheeler

Nashua – Marjorie A. (Luke) Wheeler, 92, formerly of Nashua, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Crestwood Center, Milford.

Her husband, John J. Wheeler Jr., died in January 1973.

Mrs. Marjorie Wheeler was born July 26, 1921, in Woburn, Mass., where she was raised, the oldest daughter of George J. and Sadie G. (McCall) Luke.

Mrs. Wheeler leaves two daughters, Janis M. Murphy of Merrimack and Lori W. Dudley of Brookline; a sister Marilyn B. Poppe of Durham, N.C.; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband John J. Wheeler Jr. and her brother, George J. Luke Jr. Her son, David M. Wheeler, remains missing since 1985.

Mrs. Wheeler raised her family in Braintree, where she was an active member of St. Claire’s Church. She enjoyed gardening in her yard and spending time with her family. For ten years, Mrs. Wheeler worked as an Administrator at Bay Bank in Norwood and Burlington, retiring in 1994 when she moved to Amherst, NH. She attended St. Patrick’s Church in Milford. Most recently she resided at Crestwood Center in Milford, where the nurses and aides provided wonderful care and ensured she was comfortable during her final days. Though it is hard to imagine our lives without her; we are comforted in knowing she lived life fully and is at peace.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1 School St., Townsend. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
