Patricia Kozlowski Murphy

Patricia Kozlowski Murphy passed at the Hospice house in Merrimack, NH on June 27th 2014.

She was the loving/caring wife of James Garry Murphy. She left two great sons, James Patrick (Rick), and Michael Joseph. Her four grandchildren, Samantha, Christopher, Amanda, and Ryan reside in Florida.

She was born in Portland, Maine in 1938, attended Portland High school where she excelled academically and was active in Cheerleading and swimming. After a year at the Univ. of Maine she transferred to Westbrook Junior College and was given a scholarship for her excellence in religious studies. She got married in 1959, traveled with her husband to Alabama, Utah, and Louisiana while he was in the Army Chemical Corps. Shortly thereafter her two sons were born in Portland. She than accompanied Garry on a long career with the Central Intelligence Agency living in the Washington, DC area, Okinawa, Bangkok, Thailand, and Paris, France. Upon Garry’s retirement the family moved to Merrimack, NH. Over the course of the next few years she fought a long/hard battle with lung cancer. She excelled in many crafts such as crochet, knitting, and painting. She also enjoyed playing various computer games. She was a great cook; especially well known for her spaghetti sauce, and classical Polish dishes. She loved her cats, and was always ready to give Cheyenne (her son’s Alaskan malamute) a big hug and a treat.

She will be interned at the Brooklawn Cemetery in Portland at a private family ceremony.
