Norma S. Underhill, 81, died August 9, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in West Roxbury, MA on January 17, 1934, to the late James Thomas and Gertrude Theresa (Foley) Scully. Norma was raised and educated in Newton, MA she was a graduate of the Boston Academy of Notre Dame class of 1951.

Norma married her husband Hugh F. Underhill on July 6, 1957. She was a stay at home wife lovingly raising her 5 children. She was a devout Catholic attending Mass daily, a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Norma is survived by her husband Hugh F. Underhill of Newburyport; children, James A. Underhill and his wife JoAnne of Hollis NH, John R. Underhill and his wife Gia of Westford, Judith U. Berger and her husband Jeffrey of Newburyport, Joseph M. Underhill and his wife Cristina of Westford, and Jane M. Buxbaum and her husband David of Newburyport; 21 grandchildren; as well as her sister Margaret T. McNally of Framingham. She was predeceased by her siblings Gertrude E. Duffey, James T. Scully, Jr. and Patricia A. Scully.

Family and friends are invited to attend Norma’s Funeral Mass at the Star of the Sea Church in Salisbury on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. The Twomey LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting the Underhill family with Norma’s funeral arrangements.
