Patricia Elaine (Sherwin) Baker

Patricia Elaine (Sherwin) Baker, 80, resident of Brookline, New Hampshire, passed away October 24, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Pat was born in Groton, Massachusetts on August 8, 1935, daughter of the late Daniel Frederick and Irene Laura (Blood) Sherwin, Sr.

Pat graduated from Groton High School, Class of 1953. Pat was a longtime resident of Brookline and a snowbird in North Port, Florida.

Pat worked for a number of years as a CNA, she had a passion for helping people, particularly the elderly, she was extremely kind and had vast patience. Pat had a generous and loving personality; she would do anything for anybody. Pat loved to do crossword puzzles, read and was an old movie buff. She loved to review recipes and watch cooking shows. Pat was an avid Jeopardy and Game Show Network fan. She couldn’t drive by a yard sale without stopping always on the look out to add to her old dish and teapot collection, particularly blue ones. She was known for her dry sense of humor and terrific gooey bars. She loved listening to Frank Sinatra and the Black Eagles Jazz Band. Her favorite beaches were the along the rugged coast of Maine.

While in Florida, she enjoyed riding her three-wheel bike for shopping excursions to Walgreens and socializing with the Cantina Cuties women’s group and the Grandmothers Club.

Pat was predeceased by her loving husband, Warner Luther Baker and beloved son Gordon Neal Baker. Pat is survived by three daughters and a daughter-in-law and their families, Bonnie and Daniel McInnis of Pocasset, MA, Linda and Richard Griffing of Greenfield, NH and Patricia and John Pickard of Brookline, NH and daughter-in-law Mary Ann Baker of Weare, NH.

Pat "Nan" is survived by 10 grandchildren, Brian Dore of Fort Hood, Texas, Tiffany (Carrier) Flanders and Trevor Haggarty of Weare, NH, Ashley and Rachel Griffing, Meghan and Robyn McInnis, Tyler and Jacob Pickard and David Baker of Conway, NH. She was an adopted Nan to the many friends of Tyler and Jacob, who stopped in daily to see her.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Marion Sherwin of Hollis, NH, sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Steve King of Merrimack, NH; and sister-in-law Mary Begley of Westfield, MA. She also has numerous nieces and nephews, and two great grandchildren, Logan and Allie Dore. She is predeceased by her brother, Richard Sherwin.

Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is forever in our hearts.

Services: The family extends an invitation to a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 30th, 10:00 a.m. at the Brookline Community Church at 2 Main St. Brookline, NH. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Patricia’s memory to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd. Merrimack, NH 03054.
