Florence E. Soucy

BROOKLINE, NH – Florence E. Soucy, 92, of Brookline, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at her residence.

Miss Soucy was born in Brookline, April 8, 1923, the last surviving child of Wilfred and Alvina (Ouellette) Soucy and was a lifelong resident of Brookline. She was a 1942 graduate of Milford High School.

She worked many years as a floor lady at the Bemis Company in Pepperell. During WWII she worked at the former Fort Devens Army base.

Following her retirement, she enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family. She was a founding member of the Infant Jesus Chapel in Brookline and later attended St. John’s Church in Townsend, Massachusetts. She had been a member of the Brookline Grange and VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

Miss Soucy is survived by several nieces including, Kathleen and Robert Lewis of Berlin, CT, Brian and Christine Denehy of Sacket’s Harbor, NY, Florence Nichols of Pepperell, MA, Kevin and Rebecca Denehy of Milford, Brendan Denehy and Brian Rater of Brookline, Ann Louise Denehy of Brookline, Ann and Scott Malcolm, Debrah Whaley all of Olathe, KS, Barry and Kristie Lee Hammar of McLouth, KS, Lonnie and Angela Hammar of Texas; and several great-nieces nephews; and cousins.

She was the sister of the late Beatrice Denehy, Wilfred Soucy Jr. and Lorraine Hammar; and the aunt of the late Terence Denehy and Ronald Denehy.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 am Saturday, November 21st at St. John’s Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brookline.

A visitation period was 9:30 am – 10:30 am Saturday, November 21st at the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street (Rte 119) Townsend Center. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information.
