Gary G. Thompson, 64, of Merrimack died at his home on Monday, December 19, 2011.

Gary was born in Phillipsburg, PA on July 24, 1947, the son of the late Alex and Beatrice (Barr) Thompson. He was a resident of Merrimack, NH for more than 20 years coming from Westford, MA.

Gary was employed at United Food Commercial Workers Union Local 1445 for over 25 years and retired as Vice President in Boston, MA.

Gary was a loving husband, Dad and Poppi. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially dancing and singing Karaoke at the Jade Dragon in Merrimack. He was a long time member of the American Legion Post 98, in Merrimack and also NH American Legion Riders Chapter 15. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and taking care of his Honda Shadow.

Gary is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Ann (Siciliano), of Merrimack; 3 daughters, Heidi and her husband David Sturrock, of Amherst, Amy Thompson, Sarah Thompson, and her long time companion, Matt Sullivan, all of Merrimack; 3 granddaughters, Sophia, Cecilia and Alexis and a brother Greg Thompson of MA.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 22 from 4-6 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 PM, also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Sharon Lovejoy from St. James Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Gary’s name to American Legion Post 98, 43 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
