Rodney S. Hicks, Jr., 60, of Dartmouth, Mass., passed away January 19, 2012, after a long battle with IPF. He was the husband of Yvette M. (Wheeldon) Hicks, they were married for 30 years.

Son of the late Rodney S. Hicks, Sr. and the late Helen (Gagnon) Hicks, he grew up in Acushnet, Mass., later moved to Virginia and then to Merrimack, NH. An avid gunsman and recreational hunter, he enjoyed fishing and boating, but mostly, Rodney enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Stephanie.

Survivors besides his loving wife include his daughter Stephanie R. Hicks of VT; 1 sister: Dorothy A. Szala of Dartmouth; 1 brother, John Gagnon and his wife Nancy of NC; 2 nieces, Samantha Szala and Megan Gagnon; 3 nephews, Derrick Szala and Connor and Ryan Gagnon.

Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, Acushnet.
