James D. Carroll, 57, passed away at his home in Homosassa, FL, on February 11, 2016. His family and friends lovingly called him Jimmy, Big Jim and Papa Bear.

Mr. Carroll was born April 13, 1958 in Nashua, NH, son of the late Lawrence and Noella Carroll. Jimmy attended Nashua, NH schools, and was a resident of several towns including Manchester and Merrimack.

Most of his working career was spent as a shipper with W.R. Grace and Company in Nashua. He also enjoyed many years in the auto sales and service industry.

One of his favorite jobs was delivering cars for dealerships and residents between New England and Florida – sparking a desire to move south.

Big Jim moved to Florida in 2007, happy to escape the Northeast winters. He truly enjoyed the Florida weather and his wonderful new neighbors, whom he spoke of often and fondly.

Jimmy is survived by his three children, son Randy Carroll and daughter Ashley Carroll, both of Florida; and daughter Anastasia Carroll of New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his sister Debra Simard, and is survived by his sister Arlene Carroll and brother Mark Carroll, both of New Hampshire.

The family will celebrate his life privately, and invites anyone wishing to honor Jimmy to please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in the Carroll Family name.
