Scouting for Food needs your help

To to Editor:

Citizens of Bedford, we hope you will again partner with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts during our annual Scouting for Food Drive. This is a time when Scouts gather together with your help to fight against hunger.

On Nov. 5, the Scouts will distribute a collection tag to your front door or mail box. On Nov. 12, the Scouts will return to collect the bags filled with non-perishable canned goods. The food is then provided to over 200 food pantries, soup kitchens and food banks throughout the state including the Bedford food pantry located at the Bedford Presbyterian Church and sponsored by a consortium of local churches.

Scouting for Food remains one of our largest food collection drives, collecting more than 8,000 non-perishable food items annually. Scouting for Food has been a huge success throughout the years due to your kindness and generosity directed to those in need. Items urgently needed are peanut butter, tuna fish, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, stews, and pasta.

We thank you in advance for your support. Should you have any questions about Scouting for Food, please contact bakernh@comcast.net.
