Thank you for making Brookline’s first Chili/Chowder/Soup Cook-Off a success

To the Editor:

We want to express our appreciation to the many individuals, restaurateurs and amateur cooks who contributed to the success for Brookline’s first Chili/Chowder/Soup Cook-Off held Feb. 21.

Thank you to Ron and Kathie Pelletier for setting up the Brookline Event Center that welcomed about 100 visitors who tasted and enjoyed delicious and warming concoctions!

A special thank you to all participants, professionals and amateurs, who prepared some of their best meals. It was amazing to see what a great success they all had. Voting for first place in each category was a hard decision, as everything sampled was absolutely amazing.

Congratulations to the winners:

Best Soup: Juanita’s Mexican Restaurant.

Best Chili: David Straka and Scott Scorpa, “Slap & Frikle.”

Best Chowder: Chrysanthi’s Restaurant.

Many thanks to the Copper Door and T-Bones, which donated gift certificates for the raffle. It was greatly appreciated.

Lastly, we want to thank the members of the Brookline Economic Development Committee for all their hard work and time spent to make the Cook-Off such a great event.

We are looking forward to another successful event next year! Stay tuned!
