LACROSSE

Girls U13B

The Bedford girls U13B lacrosse team defeated Abenaki 14-4 on Saturday. Bedford’s leading scorer was Eva Petron, with four goals for the day. Sophie Pothuru posted her second hat trick of the season. Katherine Lipari and Mackenzie Muir had two goals each while Eleanor Wenners, Alexis Petron and Chamberlaine Bell all contributed one goal each. Isabella Krasinski, Alex Doldo and Samantha Harrington all supported the offensive efforts.

Jill and Jade Kwikiwski, Teagan McInnis and Piper Johson helped control the midfield and also supported both the offensive and defensive ends. Ella Natale and Madison Lavalle dominated on defense and shut down many Abenaki offensive drives. Bedford’s goalies Emma Anderson and Alexis Petron, both performed well in goal for the Cannons with several saves each.

Girls U11

The Bedford U11 girls lacrosse team played one of its best games of the season in a 9-4 win over Hampton. Liz Zimmermann was stellar in net and the stout defense was lead by Chelsea Girard, Kevyn Knoettner and Grace Chopra. Scoring was provided by Sydney Grogan, Regan O’Brien, Marie Hamill, Eli Enners, Julian Bell, Kaitlyn Belz and Ashley Christerson. Maggie Thompson and Maddie Goldstein had stung games at both ends of the field.

Camp announcement

The Bedford Crew Club will hold a camp for those who will be entering eighth and ninth grade in the fall of 2014. This five-day instructional clinic is open to anyone in this age group who wants to learn to row or improve his or her current skills. You do not need to be a Bedford resident.

The camp will take place at the Amoskeag Rowing Club boathouse in Hooksett from July 14-18 from 9 a.m.-3:30 pm. Cost is $350 for the week. Participants will be broken down into groups by experience and ability.

Lots of fun and laughs are guaranteed. The camp will be run by experienced Bedford High School coaches with assistance by some of the high school rowers. There will be a limit of 26 rowers, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit www.

BASKETBALL

Summer league information

The Bedford Basketball League will host a summer league, and each division in grades 3-8 will play the same night and same court during the summer at either McKelvie or Riddle Brook. Games will be between 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. The league runs for six weeks from June 23-July 30.

No playoffs for grades 3-8 and registration cost is $40. Coed high school plays at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays at Riddle Brook. Registration cost is $50 and the league runs for six weeks from June 23-July 30. There will be single elimination playoffs for high school. Coed college plays at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30 on Thursdays and some Sundays at RBS June 12-July 24. Double elimination playoffs for this division and registration cost is $50.
