Hussain receives monthly award; Bedford senior eligible for $2,500 scholarship
NASHUA – Shahrukh Hussain, a senior at Bedford High School, and Gabrielle Masseur, a senior at Nashua North, have been named the Apple Therapy Student Athletes of the Month for November.
Hussain was a captain of the Bulldogs’ state champion football team, and has obtained a 3.6 GPA. Bedford athletic director Bill Whitmore said Hussain was "a true leader of the program."
Masseur is a three-sport athlete at North, having played field hockey, lacrosse, and ran track for the Titans. She is also the National Honor Society Vice President and has a GPA of 3.75.
ESPN New Hampshire and Apple Therapy have teamed up for the 2016-17 school year to search for the most unique, talented, and skilled high school senior student-athletes to be honored monthly for their achievements.
Each month, one senior boy and girl will be selected and interviewed on ESPN New Hampshire (1250/900 AM, www.espnnhradio.com).
All the monthly winners will be invited to a banquet in May, where the Apple Therapy Student-Athletes of the Year will be crowned.
One senior boy and one senior girl will win a $2500 scholarship.
Requirements: Must be a senior at a New Hampshire High School, play a varsity sport, and have at least a 3.0 GPA
