Souhegan holds
fall classic

The Souhegan Fall Classic Table Tennis Tournament was held in the school’s main gym on Nov. 22. A total of 30 students – 22 boys, eight girls – participated in round robin and then single elimination competition. Trophies were awarded to first place and medals to second, third and fourth places. The girls division was won by the defending champion Tina Hueng, followed by Ruomei Liu, Bidisha Sen and Kali Mandor. The boys division champion was Jaspar Jones, while Jordan Billingsley, Jon Gaffney and Steve Anderson (representing the faculty) completed the boys awards. The tournament was sponsored by Viet Pham, faculty advisor, while the tournament director was Bill Swift, Souhegan table tennis club coach. Malcomb Anderson, who is a member of the USA Table Tennis Hall of Fame and a Lifetime Achievement Award winner, was the referee. The Winter Classic will be held at the Nashua Table Tennis Club in January 2014 and will be open to all New Hampshire high schools to participate.
