Feb. 25: HB 58, Milford 42

Matt Fothergill had 18 points while Logan Blake added 14 and Cole Gallant 13 as the Cavaliers pulled away in the second half to improve to 11-5. The Spartans, led by Jordan Delgado’s 13 points, closed to within four in the third quarter but still fell to 3-14. Evan Perron added nine points for Milford.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Feb. 22: Milford 67,
Kingswood 36

Bri Hoffman led all players with 15 points while Adelle Pitsas and Jess Ryan also had strong games for Milford, as the duo combined for 21 points. On the defensive side of the ball, Milford was solid, limiting Kingswood to single digits in all but one quarter.

Feb. 21: Souhegan 46,
St. Thomas 27

The Sabers were led by Cammie Formby-Lavertu, who was outstanding in all areas of the game. On offense, she had a game high 18 points, while on defense she pulled down six rebounds to go along with five steals. Other offensive Souhegan standouts were Morgan Brady (nine points) and Jaime King (seven points).

The host Sabers started slow but grabbed a 15-14 halftime lead and went on to improve to 13-4. Devon Hickey had 12 points while Jaime King added 10.

BOWLING

Feb. 22: Local
teams fall short

In the first round of the tournament, sixth seed Hollis Brookline High School made quick work of Laconia, winning 4-1. No. 10 seed Merrimack pulled off the upset over Goffstown, as it won its match 4-2. In the only local head-to-head matchup in the first round, No. 8 Souhegan topped No. 9 Bishop Guertin 4-1.

In the quarterfinals, underdog Souhegan nearly topped No. 1 Pinkerton, but lost the final game to drop the series 4-3. Merrimack and Hollis Brookline fared no better, as Merrimack lost 4-2 to No. 2 Stevens, while the Cavaliers also lost in four games to No. 3 Spaulding.

In the finals, Pinkerton narrowly defeat Spaulding, 4-3, to claim the championship.

Feb. 20: WLC 55,
Mascenic 28

Ali Schwab led all players with a game high 19 points as the Warriors cruised to their ninth win of the season. Rachel Graves and Sami Bosquet both had solid offensive games, as they combined for 17 points. The Warriors defense was also outstanding in the game, limiting Mascenic to just one point in the fourth quarter.

Feb. 25: No. 6 Nute 54,
No. 11 WLC 48

The Warriors (9-10) rallied from 17 down to come to within five points with two minutes to play but fell short, ending their season. Sami Bosquet led the locals with 14 points while Ally Schwab added 11.
