The shop is festively decorated for the holiday season and NHAC’s dealers stock their booths with unique antique gift ideas and nostalgic items of yesteryear.

“We love this weekend every year,” said co-owner Jason Hackler, who runs New Hampshire Antique Co-op with his father, Samuel. “It’s a relaxed, old-fashioned way to kick off the holidays. Bring your family, bring your visiting guests, there’s always something fun to discover. People really get into the scavenger hunt and we’ll have plenty of treats, great finds and holiday cheer throughout the shop. It’s truly one of our favorite traditions.”

Visitors can stroll the aisles and discover unique items sure to please the antique enthusiasts on their gift lists. Take a chance on guessing how many candy canes are in a jar, the closest guess wins a New Hampshire Antique Co-op gift card. Test your scouting skills with an antique-themed scavenger hunt to win prizes.

Next is Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29, a nationwide endeavor to inspire patrons to shift their shopping. Remember to shop small and shop local throughout this holiday season, your local family-owned businesses truly appreciate your support.

The fun continues on Nov. 30, which is a great time to visit the art gallery to take in the new fine art exhibit, The American Still Life: Two Centuries of Timeless Tradition, which captures more than 200 years of the timeless appeal of American still life paintings from 19th-century old-master style floral arrangements and fruit-laden table tops to trompe l’oeil (“deceive the eye”) works, as well as contemporary interpretations. The exhibition showcases 19th-century painters such as Severin Roesen (1816-1872), William Harnett (1848-1892), Levi Wells Prentice (1851-1935), and Andrew John Henry Way (1826-1888); early 20th century Impressionists like Dines Carlsen (1901-1966), Hermann Dudley Murphy (1867-1945) and George Loftus Noyes (1864-1954); as well as contemporary artists Jeanne Duval, Stephen Motyka and James Aponovich, who continue the still life traditions today. Bring the family and see all of these wonderful works on display in the art gallery.
