New ARL-NH director of events and communication announced

Paula Mattis, president and CEO of the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, has announced that Laura Montenegro is the league’s new director of events and communications.

Most recently, Montenegro was in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, where she spent two years creating and implementing grassroots initiatives as a community health volunteer. Before her time in the Peace Corps, Montenegro worked in radio and marketing, after graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2003.

“We were so fortunate to find Laura,” Mattis said. “She has jumped right into ARL events planning and has been busy working with traditional and social media to get our message out to the community. Her energy, creativity and commitment were evident from Day One.”

“This is really my dream job,” Montenegro said. “I get to go to work doing what I love to do, for a cause I am so very passionate about.” Montenegro adopted her 3-year-old black spaniel, Layla, from Ecuador, and they made the long journey home together.

Laura can be reached at 472-5714 or events@
