Students from Bedford’s Ross A. Lurgio Middle School, from left, Brendan Joyce, 13; Remy Bedard, 13; Jeremy Lee, 12; Jordan Bohan, 12; Maddy Ondzes, 12; Jenny Loefstedt, 12; Samantha Gallo, 12; Cecilia DeBlasi, 12; and Graham Burdon, 13, are busy preparing stage props for an upcoming production of “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.” The stage play is a compact version that will feature all the hit songs popular in the full-length production. Principal Ed Joyce credits the enthusiasm of all the participating students, those shown here and many others, and the assistance of numerous parent volunteers, staffers, and Co-technical Directors Elissa Mattson and Al Fredette for an effort sure to result in a stellar, two-day event. Zane Mercer, 17, a senior at Bedford High School, is leading the team of volunteer craftsmen building the on-stage environment. Mercer has made the production his senior project. Performances will take place at Bedford High School Theatre, adjacent to the middle school, 47A Nashua Road. An initial performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1. Two additional shows, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 2. Tickets are $7, and are available online through the “purchase tickets” section on the school’s website, www.sau25.net/RossLurgio.cfm.
