Majestic presents Noel Coward’s ‘Blithe Spirit’
MANCHESTER – For two weekends this month, Manchester’s Majestic Theatre will present the smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, “Blithe Spirit.”
Written by Noel Coward, it’s the story of a fussy, cantankerous writer, Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira, who is called up by a visiting “happy medium,” Madame Arcati.
As the personalities clash, Charles’ current wife, Ruth, is accidentally killed, “passes over,” joins Elvira, and the two “blithe spirits” haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity. Majestic’s Blithe Spirit is directed by Elizabeth Moore, of Milford, and stars Aaron Compagna, of Manchester, Deborah Comire, of Manchester, Anja Ward, of Derry, Mike Harrington, of Nashua, Kathy Aiello, of Nashua, Carol Neveux, of Concord, and Rebecca Howland of Concord.
“Blithe Spirit” will be performed at 7 p.m. June 21 and June 22, and June 28, 29 and at 2 p.m. on June 30, at The Manchester Community Music School’s Holy Cross Hall, 2291 Elm Street.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 669-7469, online at www.majestictheatre.net or at the door prior to the performance. The Majestic is a nonprofit community arts organization.
