Shop the farmers market this summer

The Bedford Farmers’ Market is the place to shop this summer. Plentiful with fresh greens, fruit, cheese, homemade breads and granola, shoppers can find much of what they need for a healthy dinner.

Looking for specialty items? Try some of the olive oils, crab cakes, bison, vegan ice cream or chocolate, there is so much to choose from this season at the market.

On Tuesday, Aug. 2, visit the market’s nonprofit guest vendor, Pan Mass Challenge, an organization which raises funds for cancer research.

The PMC is a two-day, 200 mile bicycle ride. The volunteer from PMC will be promoting the kid’s PMC, which will be held in Pelham on Sept. 24. Families are encouraged to ride with their children.

There is a wide assortment of great produce in season and available for consumers to purchase at the market and enjoy including; blueberries, tomatoes, swiss chard, cucumbers, green beans, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. Check out some of the natural soaps and lotions as well.

The market runs from 3-6 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church parking lot every Tuesday rain or shine through Oct. 4. The church is located at 190 Meetinghouse Road in Bedford.
