Bedford Women’s Club 2019 High School Senior Scholarship

The Josephine A. Fearon High School Senior Scholarship 2019 from the Bedford Women’s Club Is for Boys and Girls Who are Bedford Residents

Members of the Class of 2019 have been busy applying to the colleges of their choice. As the new year begins, it is time to explore the available financial aid. The time before the school winter vacation is an excellent time to complete this task.

The Bedford Women’s Club has scholarship funds available. The minimum award is $1,000. Scholarships are offered to both young men and young women who are residents of Bedford. Students may apply to ANY post-secondary school or training program. The application form is new this year. It is simpler than past applications, only two pages.

Applications may be found by going to bedfordwomensclub.org and clicking on Scholarships & Charities. Click on the high school form, not the non-traditional. The name of the scholarship when printed is the Josephine A. Fearon High School Senior Scholarship. (The Bedford Women’s Club began giving scholarships to high school seniors in 1947 and the club has named this scholarship after educator and club past-president Josephine A. Fearon.) The application and all attachments should be mailed to BWC Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 10015, Bedford, NH 03110. Completed applications for scholarships, including attachments, must be received by March 15, 2019.

Seniors are urged to give themselves time to complete each component of the application. A student should request a reference and give the reference time to write a letter describing the student’s uniqueness. Counselors are a resource to students going through the application process. The criteria for a high school senior include transcript, extra-curricular activities, community service and financial need.
