Bedford Rotary welcomed retired Saint Anselm Librarian Joe Constance to speak about the State of Israel.

Benjamin Netanyahu was recently re-elected Prime Minister but as yet been unable to form a government.

Some facts about Israel:

Population: 9 million with almost one-half the citizenry living in metro Tel Aviv. Israel is a country of immigrants and has the highest standard of living in the Middle East. 75% of population is Jewish, 21 % Arabic. Hebrew is the official language – Russian, Ambaric, French and English also spoken.

Interestingly enough Israel has the 2nd largest number of business start-ups in the world after the US. Energy wise 90% of household use solar to heat hot water.
