Girl Scouts grateful for Day of Caring volunteer work at camp

BEDFORD – Volunteers from NBT Bank, New Hampshire Housing, and Devine Millimet Attorneys at Law, all part of the Granite United Way’s Day of Caring, gave their time and effort to spruce up Camp Kettleford, one of the summer camp properties owned by Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, on Friday, May 16. They painted benches and cabins, built a new wooden pavilion to shade campers, helped plant new shrubs, and generally prepared the property for this summer’s young campers.

“We are grateful to the Granite United Way for coordinating volunteers to help us prepare our facility for the 2025 camp season,” said Patricia K. Mellor, CEO of the Girl Scout council. “Our campers will have a clean, bright, and cheerful place to enjoy the outdoors, make new friends, and learn new skills.”

The summer day camp season opens June 23 and runs through August 15 at Camp Kettleford and is open to girls who have completed kindergarten through Grade 8. Troops and families are also invited to camp at this property with help from experienced on-site staff. Weeks are still available for families looking for an amazing summer experience for their children but fill fast. See more at www.girlscoutsgwm.org.
