Bedford Academy expands to include sixth grade

BEDFORD – The state Department of Education recently approved Bedford Academy to expand its academic offerings to include sixth grade, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
The private school previously served students from pre-school through fifth grade since 2021.
The expansion follows the submission of a program of study and updated student policies, which were reviewed and approved in accordance with state Department of Education standards and received formal approval from the state Board of Education.
The decision to add sixth grade was driven by sustained interest from current families seeking continued options beyond fifth grade with the same quality of education. Plans are also underway to accommodate this growth through additional space as well as expanded athletic opportunities to support traditional middle school programs and enhance the overall student experience.
“The addition of sixth grade is a natural extension of our Upper School program, which emphasizes whole child development through student-centered, interdisciplinary learning,” said Dr. Roxanne Molina, owner of Bedford Academy. “Our curriculum is designed to cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity, while giving each student the opportunity to explore their interests in a supportive, academically rigorous environment.”
