Animal Rescue League announces participation in Clear the Shelters campaign

BEDFORD — The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire is participating in the nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign, hosted by NBCUniversal Local, throughout the month of August.

This annual event aims to help shelter animals find loving homes by reducing or waiving adoption fees.

At the ARLNH, qualifying animals will be available at a 50 percent discount or with fees waived:

-50 percent off adoption fee for animals six months or older

-Fee waived for animals who have been in the shelter for more than 30 days

“Our mission is not just to place animals, it’s to match them with homes where they will thrive,” said Naomi Stevens, chief operating officer at the ARLNH. “Clear the Shelters gives us a chance to spotlight long-term residents and help them find the families they have been waiting for.”

ARLNH’s trained staff will work with adopters to ensure each match meets the needs of both the animal and the household. Every adoption is a step toward a brighter future for pets in need.

Clear the Shelters began in 2014 as a local adoption event in North Texas. In 2015, NBCUniversal launched it nationally, and it has since become a month-long campaign each August. Nearly 1.2 million pets have been adopted through the initiative and more than $5 million has been raised to support shelters across the country.
