John Griffith, a 2006 graduate of Souhegan High School, received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maine at Orono in May. Griffith is the son of Tom and Janice Griffith, formerly of Amherst, and is currently employed at Merrill Lynch.

Jacob Aho of New Ipswich graduated with a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in May with a 4.0 GPA. Jacob is the son of Peter and Bonny-Jo Aho, grandson of Edward and Evangeline Aho of New Ipswich and Joyce Jernberg of Stoddard. Jacob was a teaching assistant with the UNH ECE department for both years of his graduate studies and received the Graduate Student Teaching Award and the Outstanding Gradate Teaching Assistant Award from UNH. His Master’s Thesis was titled “Advanced Control of Large Scale Wind Turbines.” He will continue his research of wind turbine control systems at the University of Colorado at Boulder in pursuit of his Ph.D. with the Department of Electrical Computer and Energy Engineering.

Sarah E. Truchon of Amherst, earned the University of Vermont’s 2010 spring dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement. She was also the recipient of the college’s President’s Award for both the fall 2009 and the spring 2010. Ms. Truchon is currently enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the university, with a major in Animal Science.
