WILTON – March 30 marks the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. The day has been declared the Welcome Home Vietnam War Veterans Day.

On Monday, Karen Blood, representing the Josiah Crosby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Milford, presented the Selectboard with an official flag and a proclamation.

Chairman Bill Condra read the proclamation, which thanks and honors those who served during the war and recognizes their sacrifices. The Board accepted the official flag, which will be flown on March 30.

Veterans Condra and resident William Chalmers, who was present, also were presented commemorative pins.
