Luminaria in Wilton

On Sunday evening, more than 500 Luminaria, below, lined Wilton Main Street from the fire station to the Congregational Church. These are on the wall above the dam in Stoney Brook. Luminaria are traditionally candles set on sand in the bottom of a small paper bag, a popular custom in New Mexico. The event was sponsored for the third year by the Main Street Association and held in conjunction with the annual showing of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ at the Town Hall Theater. The little lantern bags were decorated by students at Florence Rideout Elementary and Pine Hill schools, above, as they were last year.
