AMHERST – One week after a fatal accident on Route 101 killed a Milford High School graduate there was a roll-over accident near the same spot.

According to the infonh website, on April 12 a Hyundai Tuscon traveling east on 101 passed a tractor-trailer also traveling east when the Tuscon’s driver realized he was about to hit another westbound vehicle head-on. When he tried to move back into his lane his vehicle struck the front of the tractor-trailer and rolled over on its roof. The vehicle initially was pushed by the tractor-trailer into the guardrail of the Merrimack Road overpass and then slid on its roof. Local police and firefighters responded just after 5:30 p.m.

The driver of the Tuscon was the only occupant and was reportedly restrained with a seat belt and several airbags and had no visible injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.

Route 101 was closed for more than an hour with miles of traffic backed up westbound. It is unknown if there were any charges against the driver.

On April 5, Sierra Croteau, 21, of Manchester, died when the Hyundai Santa Fe she was driving east on Route 101 in Amherst was struck head-on by a GMC pickup truck driven by Tyler Berry, 27, of Amherst. A Londonderry police officer, Berry was seriously injured and scheduled to be arraigned April 18 on one count of aggravated driving while intoxicated.
