$4.7 million project scheduled

BEDFORD – The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces that starting on Thursday, work on the Interstate 293 southbound bridge over the Merrimack River will require a change to the existing traffic pattern. The new alignment will result in southbound traffic being shifted to the two north lanes of the bridge allowing for construction activities on the south side. A concrete barrier will remain in place between the traveling public and the work zone occupying the south side of the bridge.

Weather permitting, nighttime operations will take place from 7 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday. It will require the use of lane closures to perform work.

R.S. Audley Inc. of Bow is the contractor for the $4.7 million project, which has a final completion date of summer 2020.
