AG: Force in fatal shooting justified

BELMONT (AP) – The New Hampshire attorney general’s office says the fatal shooting of a man in Belmont by police officers was justified.

The shooting happened June 15 in Belmont.

The attorney general’s office said Tuesday that Michael Sheehan II, who was pulled over by the officers, took a gun from a holster on his hip and pointed it at his own chin.

Officials said Sheehan then started walking toward police, ignoring commands to put the gun down. They eventually shot and killed him.
