Milford Citizen of the Year nominations still are open

Nominations are currently being accepted for Milford’s 2019 Citizen of the Year honoree. All residents of Milford are invited to submit nominations for the individual who, in their opinion, best demonstrates good citizenship through active volunteerism, participation and actions to help make Milford the great community that it is to live, work, play and raise a family.

Nominations of couples and posthumous awards will be considered by the review committee. This year, the Milford Citizen of the Year program is being sponsored by the Arthur L. Keyes Memorial Trust in collaboration with the town of Milford and the Granite Town Festivities Committee.

According to JanetLangdell, one of three Keyes Trustees, “This seemed like a good fit with the mission of the Trust. Judge Keyes was very clear in wanting his legacy to continue to help enrich our community and support initiatives that improve Milford now and for future generations. One way to do that is by supporting and honoring the citizens who are making good things happen in Milford on a daily basis through their community participation and volunteerism.”

If you have a friend, neighbor or relative who you feel has made a positive difference in Milford, please submit their name, along with a brief statement of why you believe they should be honored. Printed nomination forms can be picked up at the Milford Town Hall lobby and the Wadleigh Memorial Library.

To download a nomination form, visit the town website at Milford.NH.gov or the Milford Pumpkin Festival website at MilfordPumpkinFestival.org.

Completed nomination forms must be returned no later than Sept. 27 to Keyes Memorial Trust, P.O. Box 363 Milford, NH 03055; or in-person to Janet Langdell; or by e-mail toKeyesTrust@gmail.com.

Sealed drop-off boxes will be available at Town Hall and the Wadleigh Memorial Library.

The 2019 Milford Citizen of the Year recipient will be announced during the opening ceremonies of the 30th annual Milford Pumpkin Festival on Oct. 11 at the Oval Stage.
