Historical Society open house scheduled

To celebrate the official 40th anniversary of being in the Carey House, the Milford Historical Society has planned a very special Open House Celebration to be held on October 5th and 6th from 2-4 each day.

We are honored that Nancy Schooley will be hosting the event since her father, Guy Fitch, was active with the Society during the move into the Carey House. In addition to having Nancy here, we will be serving celebration cake made and donated by Denise Wright Fox, granddaughter of Winifred Wright who was another long time Milford Historical Society member. Denise has contributed much to the Society over the past years and we are delighted that she will be a part of the celebration, too. This will truly be a event to commemorate the past members who have contributed so much to the the Society and to Milford.

In addition to the above, one of our volunteers has created a Touch-A-Tool event that will be suitable for all ages, but parental guidance is necessary. Bring the whole family and see who can identify the items first! We can’t give any hints in this announcement, but our volunteer has done her research and will have the answers ready.

Please help us celebrate this important milestone in the history of the Milford Historical Society.

The Carey House Museum is located at 6 Union St. Please use the accessible entrance on the driveway side of the building.
