Nature explorations set at Beaver Brook

HOLLIS – Beaver Brook Nature Center in Hollis has announced these new programs:

• Nature Storytime, Tue, Jul. 7, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Beaver Brook Nature Center Herb Gardens Maple Hill Farm, 117 Ridge Rd. Children and their grown-up can enjoy nature-inspired pictures books, songs and guided movement activities on our beautiful Maple Hill Farm campus. Led by Callie McMaster. For children age 3-7 and their grown up. $10 per child & their grownup./$8 Members $8 for extra siblings.Register at www.beaverbrook.org.

• Family Guided Hikes, Tuesday Jul. 7, 10:00 a.m.; Noon; 2 p.m. or 5 p.m.

Beaver Brook Nature Center, 117 Ridge Road. Join BBA instructor Tara Happy on a guided exploration of Beaver Brook trails, ponds, streams, labyrinth, fitness trails and more. You will definitely discover things and places you haven’t seen before! Recommended for children who can hike on their own feet for 2 hours. $10 per person. Register at www.beaverbrook.org

• Hike, Picnic, and Explore Spatterdock, Wednesday, July. 8 9:00 a.m.-noon, Beaver Brook Nature Center. Meet at BBA Trailhead Worcester Road Trailhead 42°42’47.9“N 71°36’50.8”W. This hike will take you along Beaver Brook Stream to Spatterdock Pond. Enjoy a picnic lunch and learn amazing things about this wetland habitat. Bring a picnic lunch in a backpack and a water bottle. • Family Guided Explorations, Thursday, Jul. 9, 9:00 -11 a.m., Beaver Brook Nature Center. Join a Naturalist on an exploration of special places at Beaver Brook such as the porcupine den at Rocky Ridge, the Otter Pond, the Potanipo Rail Trail and more. You will learn about wildlife and their required habitats as you go. $15/$12 Members of BBA. Register at www.beaverbrook.org.
