Alleged burglars nabbed by homeowner
HOLLIS – Two teens from Nashua and an unidentified juvenile are free on bail following their arrests late last week on charges accusing them of breaking into a South Merrimack Road residence, police said.
Officers were called to the home around 9:30 p.m. March 30, police said, and upon arrival located the homeowner, a woman whom police did not identify, who told them she confronted the suspects while investigating noises, including glass breaking, coming from another part of the house.
Arrested at the scene were Brandon R. Muraca, 19, and Julian Tyler, 18, both of Nashua, along with the juvenile, whose name and gender weren’t released because of his or her age, police said.
They said one of the three suspects “is known to the homeowner,” but didn’t specify which one.
Muraca and Tyler were both charged with one count each of burglary and criminal mischief, police said. They were booked on the charges and later released on cash bail.
According to Muraca’s case file, he posted $200 bail and is scheduled for arraignment on May 20 in Hillsborough County Superior Court South in Nashua.
No information was available on Tyler, but police said he was also released on cash bail pending a Superior Court arraignment.
The juvenile suspect will be charged in juvenile court, police added.
They also said the investigation is ongoing, and that more charges are possible.
As for the March 30 incident, police said the homeowner told them she “confronted the subjects (allegedly) actively breaking into her home.”
The glass the homeowner told police she heard breaking was the window through which the suspects allegedly forced their way into the home, police said.
When she went downstairs she encountered the three suspects, she told police she “immediately called 911.”
Police added that their investigation shows that the house “was not targeted randomly,” and assurred residents that “there is no reason to believe that there is any further danger to the community as a result of this incident.”
They asked anyone who may have any additional information regarding the incident to call police headquarters at 465-7637.
