Monadnock Writers’ Group to host Marit Weisenberg on April 17

PETERBOROUGH – At 9:45 a.m. on April 17, Monadnock Writers’ Group will host Marit Weisenberg at its monthly meeting. Join us for an in-depth discussion with the author around her writing career and upcoming novel. Also, Davina Sienkiewicz, a Wilton, NH senior at High Mowing School, will read her George Duncan Essay Contest winning essay. The virtual meeting is open to the public free of charge. Marit Weisenberg, is the author of three highly acclaimed novels for teens. Her most recent, The Insomiacs, was nominated for American Library Association’s Best Fiction for Young Adults 2021 and is a nominee for Reading the West awards. Her earlier titles include the young adult novels Select, and Select Few. Weisenberg’s upcoming novel, This Golden State, will be published by Flatiron Books in March, 2022. She is no stranger to Northern New England having attended Bowdoin College in Maine. She later completed a master’s degree from UCLA in Cinema and Media Studies and worked as a film and television executive in Los Angeles before launching her writing career. Originally from the Bay Area, Weisenberg currently lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and two daughters.

Since 1984 the Monadnock Writers’ Group has supported local writers of all genres and levels of achievement. Monthly meetings, held on the third Saturday of each month, bring a variety of accomplished writers to the Monadnock Region to offer their experiences. In addition, MWG publishes periodic anthologies and Smoky Quartz, a semi-annual online journal of literature and art.
