Sculpture wanted for Riverwalk in Wilton

WILTON – The Conservation Commission is inviting regional artists to display nature-related art sculpture along the new Riverwalk Stoney Brook Trail. Granite plinths to secure the works have been placed along the 450-foot path from Monument Park to the Wilton House of Pizza.

Sculptures can be donated as permanent installations or placed as rotating exhibits.

The public opening of the park is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, and the committee would like to have some pieces in place by that date. Sculptures will be accepted at any time during the warm season.

For more information, or to confirm that you would like to participate, contact the Conservation Commission.

The Stoney Brook Trail is part of Phase 2 of the Riverwalk Project approved by voters in 2017. It was made possible by aa AARP Challenge Grant and the donation of an easement along the Brook by TDS Telecom. A footbridge connecting the walk to the path along the other side of the brook at the edge of the Police Department parking lot is under study.
