Members of the Milford High School ‘We the People’ debate team pose after winning the state championship competition on Jan. 10. Members of the team included Ryann Anderson,Manya Ziemiecki, Allison Demmons, Lily Kincaid, Sofia Freeman,Cameron Hopkins, Carla Costas, Logan Woods, Riley Weis and Caleb Cote, coached by Thomas Lindstedt. The national competition is slated for April 22-26. The competition is centered around simulated congressional hearings where students testify on a variety of issues surrounding the Constitution and its application. Students prepare several essays centered around specific topics that judges then ask students questions on. This competition is sponsored by the NH Bar Association.The course is offered to juniors and seniors.
