Special events set in Wilton
WILTON – Several special events are planned for the Collaborative Space at the Second Congregational Parish Hall during April. Events are free but registration is required.
Saturday,
April 9, 5-7 p.m.
The Wilton Community Center and the Wilton Heritage Commission will sponsor a community pot luck supper followed by a showing of the 35-minute video “Wilton and Lyndeborough – A Shared History.” The film was a project of the Heritage Commissions in both towns initially for the fourth grade classes, but also for the towns’ websites.

“Understanding Putin’s Invasion
of Ukraine.”
The Wilton Public/Gregg Free Library will host Prof. Paul Brandon Gauthier, director of Global Education at the Derryfield School and an Adjunct Professor of History at Fordham University. Dr. Gauthier will explain the motives behind Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, covering recent developments, put them into historical context, and explore how journalists cover the war from the frontlines.

Beginning on April 18, 7-8:30 p.m.,
a five-week course on Ancient Greek
The Wilton Community Center will sponsor an introduction to the ancient Greek language. In addition to learning the Greek alphabet and connections between Greek and English, there will be some guided reading of selections from ancient texts.
Instructor Mike Anderson is a retired high school teacher who began is Greek studies in college, earned an M.A. in classics, and has taught Greek at both high school and college levels for four decades.
