Household hazardous waste event is May 7

NASHUA – The 2022 Milford household hazardous waste collection event is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 7 at the Milford Public Works Garage, 289 South St. (Route 13), Milford. Residents of Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, Pelham and Windham are welcome to attend.

There is a $15 user fee per vehicle, which covers up to 10 gallons or 20 pounds of waste. Residents who bring more than this amount will be charged accordingly to help offset the additional costs. Fees may be paid by cash or check.

Many common household hazardous waste products are accepted at the collection events, including oil-based paints, solvents, oven cleaners, pool chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, drain openers, and auto chemicals. Latex paint is not accepted at collection events; instead, it should be dried out and disposed of at your local landfill or transfer station. Electronics and medications also are NOT accepted. Please contact your local transfer station or landfill for information about how to recycle electronics in your municipality.
