Officials gather to honor Mark Chase

LYNDEBOROUGH – Town officials hosted a lunch on Thursday, April 28, to say, “Thanks and Farewell” to retiring Road Agent Mark Chase. About 15 residents, mostly town employees, enjoyed pizza in the town office, including the other three members of the road crew.

Administrator Russ Boland presented Chase with a letter of appreciation for his 22 years with the Highway Department, nine of them as Road Agent.

“During your time many improvements were made,” Boland said. “Many goals were realized. We will miss you.”

The traditional gift of a clock “is stuck somewhere in the supply chain,” he said. “We’ll get it to you.”

Chase said he worked with three Road Agents during those years. He succeeded Kent Perry.

He and his wife Jessica are planning a road trip vacation, she said, “with no time table and no destination. Just go.”

Former Fire Chief Rick McQuade has been sworn in as the new Road Agent.
