Nashua Garden Club’s annual plant sale is May 14

After a two-year hiatus, the Nashua Garden Club recently announced that its annual plant sale is on for 2022. Gain inspiration for your garden by attending this event on Saturday, May 14 on the grounds of the Nashua Historical Society, 5 Abbott St., Nashua.

The sale will start promptly at 8 a.m. and run through noon, rain, or shine. Please note that only cash and checks will be accepted.

Mark your calendar as enthusiastic gardeners traditionally line up early to view the wide array of perennials, bulbs, shrubs, houseplants and herbs. Many of the selections have been diligently raised and nurtured by members of the club, including several Master Gardeners. These experienced, knowledgeable gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and to help you pick the best plants for your garden.

Attendees also may participate in a raffle of a variety of creative, themed gift baskets or to shop for great bargains at the garden-themed “yard sale.” All proceeds benefit the club’s community educational and beautification projects throughout the year such as maintenance of Greeley Park’s Sensory Garden and the garden at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.

While there, you also are invited to explore the Historical Society’s Florence H. Speare Memorial Museum’s ever-changing exhibits, which contain a wealth of information regarding Nashua’s origin, its evolution into an 1800s mill town, followed by growth into the manufacturing, technological and arts center that it is today.
