Wilton Memorial Day
WILTON – The American Legion, Bent-Burke Post 10, will again host traditional Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday, May 30. The ceremonies were cancelled the past two years by COVID.
The parade, led by the Temple Band, will step off from the Legion Home on Maple Street at 9 a.m. and follow the usual route to the Memorial Park on Forest Street. Taking part will be the Legion Color Guard, veterans, the Lafayette Artillery Company of Lyndeborough, Scout and civic organizations.
The main speaker will be Major Gen. Harry Miller, Army National Guard, ret. of Milford.
Gen. Miller served several tours in Iraq, 2006-2008. He joined the N.H. National Guard in 1995, serving with the first Infantry. He also served as Director of Operations in N.H.
The newly refurbished Memorial to All Veterans, erected in 1924, will be rededicated.
