The Hollis Strawberry Festival is back. The 74th Festival is Sunday, June 26, 2-4 p.m. on historic Monument Square, Hollis. Please join us!

Feast on local strawberries, homemade shortcake, freshly whipped cream and homemade Doc Davis ice cream while enjoying the award winning Town Band. It’s a family fun event with face painting, children’s games, artists and vendors, kid’s strawberry stories in the adjacent library and more.

The band was founded as the Hollis Church School Band in 1943. The Strawberry Festival has been part of its history since nearly the beginning. According to the band’s historical records, the event dates back as far as 1946. From the start, it was a community event requiring lots of helping hands, with the band asking for volunteers to bake shortcakes and for strawberry donations from the farmers of Hollis.

Today the Hollis Woman’s Club organizes the strawberry delights as well as the artist/craft vendors and children’s activities. It is a quaint summer festival enjoyed by all generations. While strolling through the picturesque town center, the band will entertain festivalgoers with a particularly special concert.

Additionally, there will be a raffle for a chance to conduct Sousa’s “Stars And Stripes Forever” at the concert and a free raffle for a Buckley’s gift card at the Hollis Woman’s Club Membership table.

Proceeds benefit local music and college scholarships.
