Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity awarded $150K in tax credits

HOLLIS – The Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity recently received $150,000 in tax credits from the state Community Development Finance Authority to support its Critical Home Repair Program.

Some of the program’s services include safety upgrades for handicapped individuals, installing grab bars and rails, ensuring that doorways are wide enough for a walker or wheelchair and exterior finishing work.

“This support is a vital investment which helps low-income homeowners address urgent health and safety concerns allowing them to remain safely in their homes,” said Executive Director Christa Tsechrintzis. “These funds will enable us to expand our capacity, serve more families in need and ensure that seniors, veterans and working families in Greater Nashua can age in place and live with dignity. We look forward to the partnerships to come.”

The award is part of a $6.6 million effort to fund a myriad of projects that “advance local community economic development goals and build capacity within New Hampshire’s nonprofit sector.”

“This year’s awardees have demonstrated a deep dedication to their communities and are leading impactful projects that will deliver critical services and infrastructure needed throughout the Granite State,” said CDFA Executive Director Katy Easterly Martey. “CDFA’s Tax Credit and Capacity Building Programs are a vital resource for New Hampshire nonprofits and municipalities to advance projects that create the foundation for strong, thriving communities and grow our economy.
