Hollis man charged with public sex act

HOLLIS – Zachary Hayner, 48, of Hollis, was taken into custody on Sept. 5 after allegedly exhibiting sexually explicit behavior at the Hollis Social Library.
According to the Hollis Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 2 Monument Sq. at 2:45 p.m. They were told by library staff that Hayner was seen sitting at a table where he reportedly “exposed his genitals and performed a sex act on himself.” Staff members also allegedly observed him following young girls through the book aisles.
Police found Hayner outside the library and placed him under arrest, charging him with gross lewdness in the presence of a child under 16.
Hayner was denied bail and was held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending his arraignment in Nashua District Court on Sept. 8.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
