United Way announces coat drive

NASHUA – Every year across New Hampshire, many families, seniors and children face the harsh winter months without adequate warm clothing.
The cold weather can be particularly dangerous for those who cannot afford new coats or winter gear. Granite United Way, the United Way of Greater Nashua and Monadnock United Way are partnering to ensure that new and like new coats are distributed across the state of New Hampshire to those most in need.
From Sept. 29 through Oct. 31, Granite United Way, the United Way of Greater Nashua and Monadnock United Way are teaming up to collect new and like new coats, so everyone has what they need before Thanksgiving. The full list of drop-off locations is available at https://www.graniteuw.org/nhcoatdrive.
“There has been an incredible outpouring of community support for this program – including Cleary Cleaners who has generously offered to clean all donated coats,” said Kerry Folkins, community engagement director. “Over the past few years, we have seen a real need for this and our program will bring warm coats to those who need them before the holidays.”
Those wishing to purchase a new coat can through the program’s Amazon wish list can do so at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/NHGSME24SQ5S?ref_=wl_share.
