Inmate escapes from Calumet House

MANCHESTER – The state Department of Corrections has announced that Anfernee Jay King, 27, escaped from the Calumet House Transitional Housing Unit.

King was last seen returning to Calumet House from work at approximately 8:11 p.m. on Nov. 5. Upon his arrival, an officer approached him regarding suspected intoxication. King fled on foot in an apparent attempt to evade a breathalyzer test.

King is approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He has blue eyes, brown hair and facial hair. King has several tattoos, including a skull with roses on his left thigh, a timepiece with a scroll on his right thigh and an image of a woman eating a banana on his left shin. He was last seen wearing glasses, a white hooded jacket with a red hooded sweatshirt underneath, gray sweatpants and white and gray sneakers.

King is incarcerated for criminal threatening – conduct involving a firearm. His earliest release date is March 12, 2026.
