Prison escapee caught in Nashua

NASHUA – Anfernee Jay King, 27, was apprehended in a Nashua apartment building on Nov. 7 after escaping from New Hampshire State Prison two days earlier.

According to the state Department of Corrections, the department’s Investigations Bureau received information that led officers to King’s location. King was taken into custody without incident with support from the Department Probation Parole and the Nashua Police Department.

King is incarcerated for criminal threatening-conduct involving a firearm. Prior to his escape, his earliest release date was March 12, 2026.

Under state law, King could now face up to seven additional years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
