Identity theft discussion slated for April 7
DERRY — Santander Bank and the Londonderry Police Department will be hosting a class on identity theft on April 7.
The class will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. at 6 West Broadway, Unit 6 in Derry.
The class is designed to provide practical tools and expert guidance on keeping personal and financial information safe.
It will cover the following topics:
-Common tactics used by identity thieves
-How to recognize phishing attempts and online scams
-Best practices for securing personal data
-Steps to take if your identity is compromised
-Available community and financial resources
“Identity theft can happen to anyone, at any age,” said Angel Burgado, Santander’s vice president of Community Partnerships. “Our goal is to empower community members with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves and respond quickly if something feels suspicious.”
Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized guidance.
